Come see some of the Midwest’s best comedy acts together on one stage. Aztec Shawnee Theater presents Thursday Comedy Showcase featuring a line-up of some of the best the Midwest has to offer.

Lindy Katzer (feature)
Lindy Katzer has performed stand-up comedy for people of all ages in comedy clubs, theaters, church basements, and ladies’ bathrooms across the Midwest. In 2019, Lindy won the title Topeka’s Funniest Comedian. On stage, Lindy uses her real-life experiences and a ukulele to describe the messiness of life as a wife and mom of four.

Janell Banks (headliner)
Janell Banks hails from Kansas City Missouri byway of Houston Texas. She has always been a natural goofball and class clown. Her quick wit, charisma, and ferociously aggressive style of comedy gives the audience a hilarious and interactive show. Janell is a radio personality and producer of the Comedy Power Hour at KUAW 98.5 FM, content creator, and national touring comic; these are not jokes, these are side-splitting PSA’s! Banks is regarded as one to watch. She has appeared on the Michael Colyar Morning Show as a regular and features for Rodney Perry, featured at Black Women in Comedy Laugh Fest (NYC) Black Girl Giggles Comedy Festival (New Orleans) Metropolitan Ensemble Theater Kansas City (The Color Purple).

Zach Favorite (host)
Zach Favorite (host): After growing up in Memphis, Zach moved to Kansas City in 2019 and began telling jokes shortly after. His jokes tend to poke fun at everyday things and shed light on some of his unique experiences. Zach has performed in cities such as Kansas City, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Omaha. Last year, he opened for nationally touring comics Kevin Farley, Andrew Sleighter, Dustin Nickerson, and Zane Lamprey. Outside of comedy, Zach works full-time as a speech-language pathologist at an assisted living facility in Lenexa.
